Many people frequently raised their eyebrows or gave me suspicious, curious look when I said "I'm going to Singapore next week". Some of them even said to me like "Singapore again? What do you want to do there?" or "It's so boring I don't understand why do you go there so often." But the funniest of all would be P' Pooh, a friend at work, who said in front of many people that "อย่าไปว่ามันเลย มันกลับบ้านเกิด" 55555

I'm talking about Singapore because I've just spent the last three days there. It's my fourth time going to the country where there are a real lot for me to do..and let's make it clear here that shopping wasn't such a big reason for me! Though it was a big part every time I went, the most favorite thing to do in Singapore for me is actually to walk around and enjoy sightseeing everything in the metropolitian area, especially the books/magazine and fashion stuff that sometimes come with a lot more selection compared to what being offered in Thailand.

Anyhow, for the trip to Singapore that has just happened, let me take you to see some of many reasons why I went there for the fourth time.

To give my sister (and me also) a bit of entertainment - the photo was taken on the plane in the morning of Oct 29. I went to Singapore with AirAsia, departing on first flight in the morning and going back with red eye flight last night. Bought the tickets under 20% off promotion that allowed us to spend only 6,948 baht for a roundtrip for two. In a word of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City: The Movie, "best money I've ever spent."

To see 500 Days of Summer :) - I realized two weeks earlier that I will have the chance to see this film, a film that I really really wanted to see since January, in Singapore since it already came out from Oct 8. And I have to say that when I finally saw it at Golden Village cinema at Vivo City, I was way too sentimental. When Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel (picture shown above) appeared together on screen in the first scene, I was literally moved to tears and being so overwhelmed throughout that I didn't know why. But after all, the film was a cool one, offering a great love story, ending with interesting thought about relationship and featuring truly great songs as its soundtrack, and I recommend it to everyone to see if it ever comes out here in Bangkok.

To meet a friend..of ours - Singapore started to become more and more familiar place for me considered the fact that I now have a lot of friends in there and Trin or as you may know him (and I also continue to call him) as Terd is one of them. He is now studying another Master degree in Sociology in Singapore. I had the chance to visit him in Holland Village, his neighbourhood on the west of Orchard. We ate on the roadside where a lot of nice, clean cars driving by.

To eat BBQ stingray - Since my last visit, I swore to myself that if I ever come back to Singapore again, I'll be going to the restaurant where there is this menu once I step out of Changi Airport! And now here it was (on the left-hand side of me in the picture), the BBQ stingray at Holland Village. the photo was taken by Trin/Terd in the evening of Oct 29, my first day there :p

To take pictures - As a big fan of Scott Schuman's The Sartorialist blog, I can't stop being so obsessed with taking pictures of people. But for me, I'm only at the beginning since I didn't go to Singapore just to take picture only and there were so many people that I felt so inspired to take their pictures but I didn't brave enough to come up to them to say "Hi, can I take your picture?" Anyhow, I was having a lot of fun taking snapshots like picture above. The photo was taken at Bugis Junction on Oct 30, afternoon.

To enjoy walking around at HMV - It's a bit unfortunate for us in Thailand that we don't have any huge good quality cd shop anymore. As such, going to Singapore and having chance to go in HMV store at The Heeren, soon to relocate to 303@Somerset in early December, and at Citylink mall was a profound experience for a music lover like me. One cd I bought this trip was..500 Days of Summer soundtrack. Gosh! I'm so in love with this film!

To lay rest in a hostel - I once said to several people that when it comes to selecting a place to stay in Singapore, I want to have two experiences. One is a five-star hotel where there will be a Mercedes-Benz S320 CDI pick me up every time I come down and bring me to anywhere I wish. Two would be staying in a dormitory together with various people from around the world in a cheap hostel. This time around, I had my chance at a small but nice hostel in Chinatown neightbourhood called "Fernloft" where Auntie Aini, the hostel manager, offered me and my sister with tons of good advices. I'm sure this would not be the only time I stay there.

To explore Singaporean fashion scene - Though there's nothing much about Singaporean fashion, there are some local shops that offer good quality clothes in their own minimal senses. The picture above was taken when I visited Cathay/Cineleisure around Somerset for a second time just to come inside this shop, VOL.TA, because the first time I went there, the shop was already closed. It's a bit of a last minute luck to get in because the second time I went, the sale staff was going out and temporarily closed the shop. I waited patiently 10-15 minutes for him to come back and already said to my sister to go back to the hostel as we might be late for the flight. Then, he came. And I got a plain black tee featured a little left pocket on my way out.

I think there's a lot more on this trip to talk about but let me stop writing just for now. I'm a little bit dizzy thinking about what to do tomorrow at work so I should go to bed.

See ya.
